What we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
E17 Bodyworks is the data controller for your information. To reach us about your data, message us on WhatsApp on 07496 374490 or write to us at 63 Sutherland Road, Walthamstow, London E17 6BH.
What we collect and why
We collect only what we need to quote for work, carry it out and keep proper records: your name and phone number, your vehicle make, model and registration, photographs of the damage and the finished work, insurance details where the job is a claim, and payment records. We do not store card numbers and we do not buy or sell data.
| What we do with it | Our lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Give you a quote you asked for | Steps before a contract |
| Do the repair and keep you updated | Our contract with you |
| Handle an insurance claim | Contract and legitimate interest |
| Keep invoices and job records | Legal obligation (tax law) |
| Show photos of finished work on this site | Your consent, which you can withdraw |
| Measure visits and which adverts bring enquiries | Your consent, given on the cookie bar |
Who else sees it
Only where the job needs it: insurers and their assessors, parts and paint suppliers (who may get your registration to supply the right part or paint code), recovery operators, and our accountant and payment provider. Also anyone the law requires, such as HMRC.
Quotes are handled on WhatsApp, so your messages and photos also pass through WhatsApp Ireland Ltd, part of Meta, under its own policy. If you prefer not to use WhatsApp, come to the workshop and we will quote in person.
How long we keep it
We keep your details only for as long as we need them. Quotes that do not go ahead are deleted once they are no longer needed. Job records, invoices and insurance correspondence are kept for as long as tax law and the time limits for claims require. Photos shown on this site stay up until you ask us to remove them.
This website
The pages load Google Tag Manager with Google Consent Mode, so every measurement tag starts switched off for everyone. Until you press yes on the cookie bar, nothing can write or read a cookie, nothing can be used for advertising and nothing can build a profile of you. The visit is counted only as an anonymous number.
If you press yes, Google Analytics measures visits and which buttons get tapped. When we run adverts, Google Ads and the Meta pixel can also record that a visit came from one of our adverts and ended in a WhatsApp message, so we stop paying for adverts that bring nobody. All of it stays off if you press no.
If you arrive from one of our adverts, the campaign name is kept in that browser tab and added to the end of your WhatsApp message, so we know which advert worked. You see it before you send, and you can delete it. Google's server sees your IP address when the code loads, and our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs. Detail is in our cookie policy.
Some providers, including Vercel, Google and Meta, process data in the United States. Where data leaves the UK it is covered by the safeguards UK data protection law allows.
Keeping it safe
Access is limited to the people who need it. Devices are password protected and paper records stay on our premises. If a breach puts your rights at risk, we will tell you and report it to the ICO within 72 hours, as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it or transfer it. You can object where we rely on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent at any time. To do any of this, message us on WhatsApp on 07496 374490 or write to us at 63 Sutherland Road, Walthamstow, London E17 6BH. We reply within one calendar month, free of charge.
If you are unhappy with how we handled your data, tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office on 0303 123 1113 or at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Changes
If we change how we use personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be made clear rather than edited in quietly.
